Maybe you voted early or mailed in your absentee ballot already. Good for you! If you’re voting today—and you will, won’t you?—I pulled together some pointers for Election Day.

What to expect.

• In King County, polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Even if you’re in the parking lot of the polling location at 8:00 p.m., you still have the right to vote.

• You may be asked to provide identification at your polling location. Approved forms of identification include a driver’s license, state ID card, student ID card, tribal ID card, voter registration card, utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check, or another government document.

• All counties except for King and Pierce Counties vote by mail. If you live in a vote-by-mail county, your ballot must be postmarked and picked up by November 4th. (That’s today before the last pickup time listed on the mailbox!)

• All legal residents of Washington who registered to vote by October 4th via mail or October 20th in person and are 18 years of age are eligible to vote.
